Acocks Green v Old Wulfrunians

Wulfs blew the chance to notch the first win of the season against a battling Acocks team.

Wulfs took the lead through
Joe Nutting after he got his head on the end of good cross.

Wulfs continued to push on with both forwards going close. Paul Hardiker was very unlucky to have to leave the game when he blocked a sledgehammer shot with the inside of his knee. Reports don't look to good for the next few months.

Acocks levelled up just before the half time interval totally against the run of play when their very quick right winger put in a low cross that was slotted away.

Wulfs stated the second half like a shot with
Tom Morgan scoring his first of the season after some good work on the left.

Jamie Taylor thought he had wrapped up the points when he made it 3-1 with a low shot.

The next turning point was when Dave Thompson went off injured meaning another shuffle of the team. This, along with Acock's making 2 changes, completely turned things around for them.

First a ball over the top was missed by the defence allowing the forward into side foot in for 3-2.

Then poor marking from a corner let the same player into level it up. Wulfs held on in the end.

Another 3 points thrown away.

OWFC Man o' the match: Dave Thompson.

Final score: Acocks Green 3  Old Wulfrunians 3.
